iOS — Available soon
Every time you check the weather, your phone tries to pull you somewhere else.
Clearing doesn't.
"A quiet place on your phone. Live weather, the time, and a way to get anywhere — without the noise."
Clearing — iOS Dashboard
What it does
Most apps compete for your attention the moment you open them. Clearing was built around a different idea — give you exactly what you came for, then get out of the way.
The time and date, with a greeting that changes through the day. Morning, afternoon, evening, night — each with its own closing line.
Current conditions written in plain language. Temperature, wind, sky. No charts, no hourly forecasts, no noise.
Based on how the weather actually feels, not just the temperature. What to wear, whether to bring an umbrella, when the UV is high. Written plainly.
A quiet line at the bottom. Type or speak any app name and launch it in one tap — without leaving the calm of Clearing or returning to the cluttered home screen.
The experience
Clearing adapts to your environment. The theme shifts automatically with the sunrise and sunset, moving between warm dark and warm light as the day progresses. You can override it at any time with a single tap.
The weather paragraph is written in prose — not icons, not numbers, not data tables. It reads like something a person would say to you in the morning.
A Story
You pick up your phone. You want to know two things before you leave the house:
weather, and whether to bring a jacket. Here is what happens next.
"It is 8:14 AM on Tuesday, April 22 in New York. The weather is partly cloudy with a temperature of 12°C (54°F). A gentle breeze is blowing at 16 kph (10 mph, 8 knots). A light jacket or sweater would serve you well today. Have a beautiful day."
*Made for B, who hates the wind, distractions, and never knows what to wear.
An app that thinks different
Minimal weather apps give you context but no utility. Minimal launchers give you utility but no context. Full-featured apps give you everything — and take your attention with it. Clearing occupies the only position that combines genuine contextual awareness with a deliberate commitment to focus.
Coming to the App Store
Clearing is a minimal iOS dashboard for people who want one quiet place to land.
The Clearing web app omits the app launcher found in the iOS version. One less distraction.
